3.1 mil laminating film is the thinnest film available and almost always used for large documents and in classroom/schools. It will protect your document, but still flex and curl.

5 mil is a thin pouch that works very well for laminating small documents. It creates a sturdy feeling document without having to pay the premium price of 7 or 10 mil.

7 mil film and pouches are the thickness often used to laminate business cards and name badges.

10 mil is the thickest size available, this size offers a very rigid feel that is ideal for presentation and sales materials and signs.
